Traditional engagement models are struggling to keep up with today’s modern data demands. Many medical affairs teams still rely on manual processes and outdated CRM systems that only show what happened in the past, offering limited insight into how healthcare professionals (HCPs) engage today. Meanwhile, valuable insights from medical congresses, new research publications, and field conversations are either scattered across disconnected systems or not captured at all. As a result, scientific messaging becomes inconsistent, and opportunities to build stronger, more meaningful relationships are often lost.
An EPG Health industry report found that at least 80% of HCPs experience pharmaceutical engagement as largely “one-size-fits-all,” which reveals a clear gap between how companies communicate and what clinicians actually need. This approach is costly, creating a significant operational burden with little measurable return. Medical science liaisons (MSLs) spend too much time on administrative tasks, which leaves less time for meaningful, high-quality scientific conversations.
